There were a number of interesting exhibitors at Multimodal last week – being a juvenile bloke I could have played all day with the trucks from Bendi, Toyota and others (if only they’d let me loose!).
But in terms of things I don’t regularly see, things that I haven’t seen before or things that made me smile then Mr Box, 101 Website Design and Loksys were three such people.
Mr Box

Again, I know it’s infantile but Mr Box just made me smile. Mr Box supply secure steel storage and shipping containers, site offices, canteen units, and chemical storage containers.
I’d been walking around the show saying hello and showing people my little red R/C truck when I stopped at Mr Box. I’m not sure why but I was relaxed and confidence was flowing from speaking to so many people and for some reason I couldn’t get a tune out of my head – it was basically a version of Spiderman but instead of Spiderman the words were Mr Box (exactly like Spider Pig from the Simpsons…).
The young lady on the stand (Sarah Jones) took my thoughts about Spider Pig (sorry Mr Box) in her stride – clearly if a marketing video comes out of this then I want credits but it just goes to show how a name can make a big impact!
101 website Design

I’ve mentioned 101 Web Design as it seemed kind of out there in terms of the shows typical exhibitors.
After speaking with them for a short time I understood that they were interested in doing more work within the sector so it made perfect sense to attend the show.
I spoke with Holly Stibbon (Sales Director) and one of their technical guys. Having a web technical background it was interesting to geek-up and listening to Holly I got the feeling that they really care about their work and ultimately their clients.
Loksys

Loksys were the ones I’ve never seen before – and that’s how they made this post!
Simply put Loksys have designed and manufactured a device that fits to containers to dramatically improve their security.
The device makes it a great deal harder to interfere with the container and if it is then it automatically sends an alert to you by GPS.
Their software seemed easy to use and allows you to create rules based on where the container is and what has happened.
I don’t really want to show any favouritism, there were loads and loads of exhibitors at the show last week – all I am sure worth a mention, but as I said, these three made me smile, think and told me something I didn’t know.
However, clearly Spier Pig (sorry Mr Box) is going to stay with me :)
