IT Industry News: Disaster recovery plans put to the test
Posted: 08 07 09 by Ontech Support TeamAccording to Symantec’s annual IT disaster recovery survey, disaster recovery plans had to be implemented by most companies in the last year.
93% of IT Professionals from over 1500 companies worldwide said that they were required to implement disaster recovery plans to some degree in the last 12 months. However despite the reduced average downtime from 12 – 24 hours in 2008 to 3 – 4 hours this year the report said that businesses will still need to improve.
The high failure rate of disaster recovery tests and the increased costs of recovery are the biggest reason that businesses need to improve.
