Right, so it’s been a short time now since the LIWSF (actually about a month!).
I managed to get there on the Thursday (19th) and was not too surprised to find that the e-ticketing system wasn’t working as planned and that I still have to get one oft he stewards to help me!
Anyway, after getting the show catalogue and having a quick walk round I stopped and spoke with a few exhibitors but in truth not being a buyer I wasn’t really somebody that wanted to speak to!
So what to do? I decided that I would stop at the WSTA stand to say hello, watch from a distance one of the seminars and then get chatting with the spirits guys and girls in DISTIL.
Now to be honest it’s easily arguable that it’s not worth us going along but I would argue (especially as Alan will probably read this) that it is invaluable... if I hadn’t gone I wouldn’t have tried Thunder Toffee Vodka or any one of the lovely spirits available...
Congratulations to all those that exhibited; it’s not easy and from what I saw it was a great show.
Personally I’m looking forward to the LIWSF 2011; next year I think I’ll register as an independent bar so that I can properly taste the produce without giving the game away (at least not instantly anyway!).
