Warrant Forms vs ATWD & ATWD XML

If you are a bonded warehouse keeper the W1, W5, W5D, W6 and W6D forms are probably your best buddy...

HMRC made life a little easier with ATWD and now Vision Warehousing is about to be among the first to use ATWD XML!

What?

OK so you may not be a bonded warehouse keeper, but they have to keep strict records of what they have received and what is sent out and for whom. HMRC then want to know exactly what movements have been made so that the correct amount of money can be collected.

The W1, W5, W5D, W6 and W6D forms are what bonded warehouse keepers use to pass this information on.

The Advent of Technology

The forms are printed in triplicate, duplicate or even quintuplicate (I did have to look this up; honest it means 5 or 5 part!).

A copy goes here, and another there, HMRC want a few... you get the idea.

ATWD allowed warehouse keepers to file online and not send HMRC copies... but you still need them and it takes a reasonable amount of time to fill the HMRC online forms in!
